“We were visited by Amie at @pacificwest_uk who cooked & presented a variety of their fantastic products for us.
Their salt & pepper squid which is their best seller – and understandably so! This product consists of 70%+ meat and comes in 1kg boxes, allowing easier storage for smaller businesses.
Just behind it on the right is their lightly dusted squid, which has a cooking time of only 3 minutes we currently stock both of these delicious squid products.
Other products that Amie prepared for us included their pollock goujons, which are coated in both batter and breadcrumbs, making the taste light, unique and flavourful.
Their salmon goujons were also a showstopper their size and costing per portion make them a perfect choice for the education sector.
My personal favourites were the Katsu goujons, which are panko breaded pollock, perfect for street food style dishes, and also the sweet chilli bubble prawns (featured on the last slide), which are perfect for tapas and Christmas menus keep your eyes peeled for these delicious products.
Amie also showed us Pacific West’s new innovate range of precooked seafood, which can mostly be cooked in under 2 minutes, consisting of marinated prawns in various flavours (we tried the garlic & chilli and Chinese bbq style), coated fish and uncoated fish.
My personal favourite from this selection was the lemon and dill marinated fish, which is so easy and quick to prepare – it can even be cooked by microwave, making it perfect for smaller businesses that don’t have extensive kitchen equipment!
The prawns are absolutely perfect for small cafes – all you need to do is defrost them and then they’re ready to simply add to salads or poke bowls.
We are currently looking to expand our range of #PacificWest products to include more of these innovative, delicious flavours, so keep your eyes peeled and hopefully we can help add some of these show stoppers to your menus in the near future!”
